Shanna Ratner was a panelist on the panel "Innovative Strategies that Support Rural Communities." This panel featured organizations that build local value chains in sectors such as food and agriculture, green affordable housing, energy efficiency, biofuels, sustainable forestry, tourism, fishing and more. These sectoral strategies are creating multiple forms of wealth and keeping that wealth local. The panel explored existing and anticipated value chain developments that transform rural communities in sustainable, integrated ways. The panel was facilitated by Jeff Mosley, Director, Training and Technical Assistance Division, Housing Assistance Council.  Shanna's co-panelists included Carla Dickstein, PhD, Senior Vice President, CEI, Wiscasset, ME; and Justin Maxson, President, Mountain Association for Community Economic Development (MACED), Berea, KY.

"Thank you!!! You and your panel were extremely well received in the evaluations and in general watching the workshop. Thanks again for your thoughtful presentation and in general for the work you do!!!" - Robert Hassinger, National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC)
