Yellow Wood Associates, Inc. worked with Cornelia Butler Flora of the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development and the Heartland Center for Leadership Development to develop and test a training program for measuring progress toward community goals. Yellow Wood staff attended an initial three day work session to design the workbook and training program, and contributed to the writing of the workbook text and design of training materials. The final product was titled, "Working Toward Community Goals: Helping Communities Succeed - A Workbook for Community Action Teams Collaborating with the Rural Community Assistance Program of the USDA Forest Service." Yellow Wood staff and Heartland Center for Leadership Development Staff co-facilitated nine regional trainings of the USDA Forest Service Rural Community Assistance staff and other rural development practitioners. Yellow Wood also provided comments and revisions for the workbook to the NCRCRD based on their training experiences.
