In connection with our work on the Wallace Center Nourishing Networks – Improving the Food Environment Project, Yellow Wood provided consulting services to Wallace under the Increasing Farmer Success in Local Food Markets in Mississippi and Alabama Project. Yellow Wood provided technical assistance to Jack and Jake’s, an aggregator of local product in New Orleans, LA, to increase the capacity and success of Jack and Jake’s to purchase more product from socially disadvantaged farmers and farmer groups in Alabama and Mississippi to achieve greater production of fresh and healthy fruits and vegetables and strong and lasting linkages to local and regional markets. Direct technical assistance provided to Jack and Jake’s, Inc. and their stakeholders included planning and implementation of a workshop and measurement assistance.
